Glad to hear your iTrip is working for you. My experience is not as good. When it works, it's tremendous. I've found it to be inconsistent. A bit frustrating. The issue involves finding a good radio station. This literally is effected by time of day and weather. Radio stations do change crank up their wattage in the evenings. Reviews on Amazon's and Apple's site mirror my comments, so I'm not alone.

I love the design of the product. I've had better luck with the Monster transmitter. It's bulkier, has less frequencies to choose, and requires a dc input. All negatives. However, the sound is better and I'm not chainging frequencies every ten minutes. One could say I'm lucky for not crashing as I used to change the iTrip frequencies so often.

My advice to anyone reading this. Get the iTrip. It's an elegant solution. If it doesn't work well over the next 24 hours, exchange it immediately. The monster solution, negatives and all, will work great. Oh, I forgot the last negative: it's about twice the price.

I tried a Belkin transmitter first and it was horrible. Then went to the Monster transmitter and I agree, that was an improvement but, I still had too many bouts with static. I finally caved and changed out the radio to an Alpine 9831 with the ipod adapter. My ipod now stays hidden in my center cosule and everything works off the head unit. No more wires everywhere and searches for a better frequency.

i hated my itrip. i thought it was garbage. Drove all the way to the dragon and back with it and it NEVER sounded good regardless of frequency. hard wiring the ipod is the only way imo...

In Chicago the iTrip was awful. Too many FM stations competing for power. iTrip is no match. I cycled through the entire channel list and had no luck.

I just had the Neo Ion installed over the weekend. All I can say is that it is amazing. $220 is steep but I now double my usage time of the ipod. So, to me, it's a bargain.

Had it installed by the local tweeter store. $40. Beautiful installation.
