Keyless start with stock immobilizer?
So I was just in a CLK550 in the shop and it has the new type of transponder key such that it only be in the cockpit and you can hit the start stop button and the car runs. I am thinking why can't an s2000 do this? Has anyone tried?
Basically this is how the stock s2000 (ap1) immobilizer works. http://garageninja.com/honda-s2000-immobilizer-system/
Im wondering if you can just bypass the key switch somehow with a simple toggle of some sort (not trashy redneck button) and just have the key near the immobilizer unit. I guess the biggest concern would be how close does the key with the chip have to be to be read by the immobilizer? Anyone every play with this idea??

My mothers 05 Prius is the exact same way. The car doors are locked. If you have the key fob on your body. You simply just touch the handle the and the door unlocks. Then you sit in the driver seat and hit the power button. There's no need to insert the key. My mother never has to take the key out of her purse. It's a really cool feature for both safety and efficiency. I would love the S to have it.
I think this is kind of what you're looking for...http://www.mystardrive.com/stardrive..._ignition.html
