Default Looking for Amp Install tips.

So, I'm in the midst of installing my new headunit (www.empeg.com) and amp (a decent 2x35 to power the sony 1621's), and Im having some difficulty.

- Wheres the best spot to put the power cable from the battery through the firewall?
- Whats the easiest way to get speaker wire through the grommit between the chassis and the door?

And yes, I searched, just didnt come up with much.

Oh, and if any of you have the Empeg, I'm working on getting proper, programmable serial control of it via the dash controls.

Thats the grommet to get your power wire through.

Getting NEW wire through the doors isn't as easy.

Door speaker wires were a bitch to thread through. I think some guy suggested zip ties and soapy water. I just used hanger wire and some tape. Took a long time and a lot of effort to drag the wires through. The amp you have is pretty small, so maybe you don't need to switch wires. Avoid it if you can.

As for the amp wire, I used the rubber grommit by the battery too. The wire pokes through to the footwell area. I made an incission to get the wire through, but somebody said you can just force it through along with the rest of the wires.

Thanks for the tips.. I ended up using the grommet behind the battery for power, unwrapped all the electrical tape and put it through with the other bundle of wires. I'll be rewrapping when i get everything else done. Havent done the speaker wires yet, and not looking forward to it -- will do it tomorrow night.

However I did manage to copy 7gig (out of 9.5 available) up to the Rio Car. While its a absurd amount of music, I can already see thats its not going to be enough (Ive got a 60gig drive full in the house).
