I was thinking you wanted a more conservative look when you mentioned hidden. In the low to middle price range Alpine blows away everything but Eclipse (which I still strongly prefer, but they are harder to get deals on). For $240 and up you can get a killer Alpine deck but some of them look like dancing circus displays these days and are loaded up with funny electronics.

Check out Crutchfield.com for the pictures and then buy an Alpine at Discountjungle.net if you end up going that route.

sucks about the remote. i am having all the stuff installed on thurs. they are going to install a wire for an ipod to connect that will come up through my cup holder; this is how i am getting around the no mp3 playback. i will make a new post on fri or sat when everything is in.

 

^ The remote isn't a huge deal in this car. One of the DCI's that works with it is calibrated well enough so that it works with little delay. However, one click of volume up or down on the remote is equal to two turns of the HU's knob. Huh? Makes no sense.

 

Your factory radio will not run four speakers properly, you will blow your outputs

 

really??? mine works just fine

using a line level converter running two amps 9 speakers out of the factory head unit (4 mids 4 tweaters and 1 12 inch JL sub)
