Modifry, help with DCI please.
hi, was wondering if anyone can help me with my dci. been trying to email bob, to no avail. the description of my problem is below. thanks all.
Hi Bob,
I was wondering if you could help me figure out what is wrong with my DCI. I bought it and installed it myself over 2 years ago. And recently, I just changed my car battery because it died. That was the only change to my car. The DCI was working just fine prior to the battery change. Now, the Mute and MODE+VolDwn are not functioning correctly. When I hit Mute or MODE+VolDwn, the deck toggles between FM1, FM2, and AM2 radio stations. Meaning, hit Mute -> FM1, hit Mute -> FM2, etc...and the same thing happens with the MODE+VolDwn combo. When I hit Mute, the green light goes on, and if I hit it again, it
goes off, and so on. So I did some searching on s2ki.com and
it's not that the Mute button is fried.
Funny thing is that MODE+VolUp works fine as it "seeks" radio stations going up. Meaning it goes from 92.7 to the next station with a signal, like 95.4 for example.

K - I've replied several times, but it's obvious you are not receiving my email as the only responses from you are essentially duplicates of your first email.

Sorry for the late reply - I'm stuck at home recovering from shoulder surgery but the good news is I'm finally catching up on email.
It's fried. I can't think of any other reason for it to act like you describe. If you return it to me at the below address I'll fix it or replace it.

Yeah, I haven't been getting them. Thanks a lot for replying. I even searched me emails, but nothing.
Thanks again for the reply. I actually had surgery to reattach a severed tendon in my pinky so I won't be ripping the DCI out anytime soon. But when it's better (mybe 2 more months!!!!), theb I'll rip it out. How much (ballpark) for the repair?
Good luck with the shoulder, I know how it is to type or do anything with 1 hand.

No hurry, I'll be here. Most of the time I can do repairs for no charge, sometimes $20, depends on what I find. Even though the official warranty is 6 months I have so few problems with DCIs (once they survive installation) that I can afford to be generous with the warranty coverage.
Thanks for the good wishes on the shoulder but thankfully I'm back to maybe 80% mobility now, though strength-wise it will be a few more months till it's normal. At it's worst (before surgery) I could not put my right arm on the top of the steering wheel. Or scratch my head. Or wipe my ars. I hate when that happens.
