I was having a horrible rattle coming from the trim piece the sun visor is mounted into. Here's how I solved it:

1) Remove the trim piece



2) Apply some automotive carpet padding



3) Replace panels

My air bag cover on the steering wheel rattles, have you fixed this one yet?

 

Try hitting a tree at 30 - should stop rattling

 

My airbag doesn't rattle, so I haven't done anything with it yet. My next target is to finish deadening the rear tray, which is not quite 100% quiet yet.

If you want, I could grab the diagram out of my service manual on how to remove it. Personally, I wouldn't goof with the airbag too much. My luck it would inflate on me!

I know a guy at the old Mobile High Fi that had one pop in his ear while installing an alarm, he is permantly deaf on one side now. I'll deal with the rattle.

 

nice post... I have an annoying rattle coming from that panel, too... only when I rev hard... but its really annoying, and embarrassing when I have a passenger in my car
