OK, I figured it out finally.

Whoever said to close the session on the CD-RW wins the prize behind door number 1. I guess I was using some CD writing software that allows me to click and drag files onto the CD but it doesn't close the session after I'm done. I uses a different program that does practically the same thing but closes it up when its done.

Here is what I've discovered so far. You can scroll through both folders and titles within folders, up to 8 'nested whatevers.' It even displays the title you named it when you burned it on a CD. That's really cool! Oh and it does play the CD-RW as well as the regular CD-R.

So thank you to everyone who educated me in the ways of MP3, your kung fu is greater and if you ever have any Q's about the 7878, let me know and I'll do my best to help ya!

Bino

if u closed the session on the CD-RW, doesn't that means u cannot re-write on it again ?? I might be wrong, but if so, it would be costly to burn songs on cd-rw than on cd-r which the latter is about 8-10x less expensive ! correct me if I am wrong !

(n how is Enid ? It is a pretty small town, if I remember rightly and u must the only guy owning the S2k !! I was @OSU ten years back and did pass by the town a couple of times on the way to Wichita, can't remember how it is like though )

have a great weekend all

Man, I sure hope that's not the case. I'll have to test that theory out when I get home tonight. The program said that it closed the session but left the CD open. Maybe that means I can still erase it later. I'll try it out and let you know.

About Enid, it's small but it's not painfully small. It has almost everything I need. It lacks a good nightlife and a Best Buy or Circuit City. But I can't think of anything else really.

But guess what, there are two more S2000s in Enid! We just may have the highest S2000 per person ratio in the country! Both of the other S2000s belong to base personnel as well. We all have different colors though. White, silver, and yellow. I seriously doubt either of them are supercharged!

Wow that many S2000!? You guys could form a Enid S2K owners' forum ! Well much better than in Singapore (that's where I am), out of 4 million people, there less than 10 S2000 ! And there are mainly 2000 models, and 90% in Silver. Mine will male them drool when it arrive ! There is only one Honda dealer, and the mark up here is incredible. A S2000 here will make one USD120,000 poorer ! Talk about rip off ! Well, the govt takes the cake, a 175% tax levied on all cars.

Let me know if u can still write over the cd-rw once it is closed.

Colombino,

Closing a session is required to TOC the contents. Even on CD-R, you can close sessions, and continue to write to the CD-R. It merely extends, for lack of a better term, the TOC.

With a CD-RW, the theory is the same; you close a session to TOC, however you can always wipe a CD-RW, and begin anew.

To a certain extent that is.

Cheers,

Well, I just erased a cd-rw that was loaded with mp3s recorded in the format that closed the session. So Daemon J's theory is effectively proven.

Now that you have everything figured out on how to play MP3s in your CDA-7878... you can now play with ID3 tags... they are the coolest. you can download programs that put ID3 tags on your MP3 files so that you will know the artist/album/genre/etc...

Congrats!!!
