[B]modifry, can I paint the back of the IR transmitter black so that it is less noticeable when mounted towards top of head unit like in your pics?

I used a black sharpie on the lLED. I did about 4 total coats, letting the whole thing sit for 5 or 10 minutes between coats. Looks fine. I don't have my install finished yet, but I'll get pics once I do.

can you please explain how this adapter is different from the one you've sold all along on your website (the PAC SWI-X I believe)?

Thanks!

I'm sure lucid or modifry can give you a better description but here are the main points:

*No delay*
IR signals already pre-coded
More functionality by pressing combinations of buttons.
Speed Sensitive volume
smaller unit

Also check out modifry's link above in his post. It has some good information.

I don't have this unit yet so this information is only what I've read.

I was planning on using a European Alpine head unit with the hardwired remote plug with the KCE-865B adapter. But I will probably just get a North American Alpine unit with this device. It will save me the trouble of having to get a European head unit. I definitely didn't want the delay of the SWI-X and like the added funcitonality of this new device.

Got mine in but some units seem to be defective. Has anyone else had any problems with theirs??? I spoke to Jim and aparently there was a bad batch that went out. If you ordered one and have not tested it I suggest you do, so you can get the issue resolved ASAP. I'm not trying to knock Lucid down or anything, I'm just giving a friendly suggestion to check before too much time passes by.

Well those were my two cents...

As Frank said, if you have any issues with the DCI please EMAIL Lucid@lucidautomotive.com for a replacement unit. We are well aware there has been an issue with the 1st 10 units shipped. The problem has been resolved.

Again EMAIL and let us know otherwise a post in the forum here may be not be seen.
