Default My homebrew DCI

I've been meaning to build a DCI for a while and finally got around to it. It's a simple PicAxe 18x driving 6 npn transistors on a resistor ladder. It's almost an exact copy of the sony remote ladder with a few points removed. I also have one more transistor for flipping the mute signal. My codes a little rough, but all the main functions are working.

The front: proto-goodness

The back: Solder bridged up..

I may. It's pretty specific to my needs though, and only works with a Sony/Pioneer deck. Do you have any experience with PICAXE's?

I went the low-tech DIY on my car. I cannibalized a spare remote that matched the head unit, and rewired the dash switches to the pads on the remote. Mounted the IR LED in the trim surrounding the radio, and it works great.
