and just because... i do believe that mounting to the seat vs to the floor is critical to proper fitment...

but that's just going based upon what i've read from others who have tried floor mounted changers vs seat mounted changers.

Phil, there is more than enough room for that player to be on the floor. Its almost 1/2 the size of the cologne box....6.5x6.8x1.8 vs the box's 11x8x3.

I got a 22" gooseneck and an alpine adaptor for a seamless installation, but a screen is my worry now. If you guys are bored at work and need something to do.......

300,000pixels
7" diagonal actual screen size
any brand

And I got this gooseneck

If you notice the part where the monitor acutally mounts, its a bolt that goes into the middle of the monitor's back. If you find one that fits this, even better.

Heres the challenge, under $200.

Happy hunting!

yup... i agree. while not as tight as mikes2k install, a gooseneck respresents a major bang for buck factor...

personally, i'd love to do an in car PC design... but unless some big $$ falls into my lap, it probably won't happen this week... actually, i have major quantities of spare PC parts, but a high res screen would be my biggest drawback. and when it comes down to it... w/ the Alpine MP3 player and now MP3 changers -- i'd probably be a whole lot better off just buying a changer and burning a crap load of CD's.

Well, you guys can stop looking. I have decided to get a Xenarc 7" widescreen. They seem to have twice the resolution of a good 7" widescreen, and many people have recommended them to me. Problem solved. Found it for 240 bucks. (non touchscreen)

Thanks for the help boys, pics coming soon.
