If you're not amping you do not need to change the door speaker wire.
DMASK does bump the door if closed. I haven't played around with 03 decks to give you an answer.
VSS is one wire connected to a wired under the passenger dash panel - see the install guides for a photo of this. You do no NEED to connect this for it to work.
