Need help
Guys,
I'm in the process of installing my amp under the passenger seat.
I tried to use the search function on this subject "how to remove the factory deck" but no luck (I'm an idiot
) I know there are instructions with pics to properly remove the deck - can someone show me the pointer?
Any advice?
Much appreciation.
- Mark
By the way I'm not using RCAs - just line inputs because my amp supports it.

I'm installing the amp on the passenger side:
However I'm running into a couple of problems:
1) Can't figure out how to remove the front cover for the factory deck
2) Where do I snake the ground wire to the battery??
I'm in the middle of an install so any help would be greatly appreciated.

The front cover (with the flip door) is a snap fit. Open the door and pull and wiggle at the two bottom corners to release these, then work your way up the sides where there are 2 more tabs to pull out. When these are out you should be able to easily dislodge the top edge. I think there is a place to run the wire through the firewall on the passenger (right) side footwell. If you remove the battery, you'll be able to see from the engine bay where all the other wires go through.
Damn! I'm giving up installing my amp.
I followed the instructions (so I thought
) and but I can't get any power to the amp and the factory radio won't come on.
Basically from the 20 pin connector I only had to deal with 5 wires all together: red/white, green/yellow, green/black, gray/red, light green.
I did a sh*** job. Time to take it to the pros????

When you disconnect the power to the stock radio, you need to input the proper code to get it going again. This code should have been included in your "delivery package" (owner's manual) in the form of a little card or tag.
I wish it was as simple as entering in the code.
I don't even get the backlight for the LCD on the radio and I don't even see the power light come on for the amp. The white/red is the remote which signals to the amp that the deck is on. Possibly the fuse could be burnt out??? who knows...

K_A_Witt, I appreciate the offer but I just took it to the local pro shop and it cost me only $50 to install the stereo and amp.
I just realize that if I remove the seats, face cover, etc....the shops have less room for scratching your car. :-)
What a freakin' difference new speakers (Infinity Kappas) and a new amp makes. I can hear the music even when the top is down (not as clear but way better then the factory).
Thanks again for everyone's help.
