Just got an S2000 for a steal, all because of this unknown beeping that drove the previous owner insane. Its the 4 beeps that it makes whenever the key is in the ignition, but it doesn’t stop. The key is out, the beeping continues to a point where it eventually drains and kills the battery. Ive unplugged the green cable underneath the steering column with the 2 wires, it keeps beeping. Anyone know how to completely disable this? It only locks from the outside so I cant even accidentally lock my keys inside, therefore rendering the key in ignition chime useless. Even when it had a very poorly wired in antitheft system in place before, all spliced in with only electrical tape (that has since been removed and all wires have been patched) , it still beeped. Any help is appreciated.

 

check to see if the door pin triggers are messed up. sounds like the car thinks a door is open.

 

This is the most likely culprit, and an easy fix.

Slightly off-topic: The 4 beeps the car makes when the key is in the ignition and the door is open are Morse Code for the letter "H". You can thank me later.
