Need help with Sub, 2ohm or 4ohm?
Ok, I'm ready to install a sub! My system currently is comprised of all Alpine components; a cda-9815 HU, 2 pairs of Type R components, and a V12-F450 5 channel amp.
I want to add a 10" Type R subwoofer, but there are two types 2ohm + 2ohm and a 4ohm + 4ohm. Which type should I install, and what are the pros and cons of both.
Thanks for your help,
Glenn

you're only choice with that amplifier is to buy a 2 ohm DVC (dual voice coil) sub and wire the sub in series (as shown below).

the F450 is only stable to 4 ohms on the sub channel - so the 2 ohm + 2 ohm version is what you have to use.
