so i got some polk components, a kicker 8 inch sub, and a kicker 4 chanel. i plan 2 mount the amp under the seat or behind the pass seat, i'm building a box to go in the spare tire well for the sub and obviously the comps are going in the door. anyone have any exeripance with putting a sub in the spare tire area? is the best sound gotten from it facing straight up, angled to the rear or angled to the cabin. any advice on installing the tweeters in the factory spots on the 03? i seen all of the diy's and pictures i could find but i didn't see anything on replacing the spare with a sub. if anyone could direct me 2 this it would be great.

 

I don't think the amp will fit under the seat. Behind the seat is probably an easier place to place the amp. Others have mounted the amp in the trunk or in the spare tire well.

I've been scouring the boards and haven't found much on replaceing the spare with a sub. As far as angling goes, since most of the low frequences are felt rather than heard, as far as I know, the angling of the sub will make a minimal difference is one at all.

Perhaps if the box was ported, you could point the port towards the cabin rather than trunk.

Another idea I've been tossing around in my head has been creating an apparatus to fit a sub into the spare tire with some quick disconnect mechanism so that the spare is still available.

 

yea there isn't enough room 2 put it in the spare. the way i see it is if i have any sorta bags in my trunk then i don't have room 2 put a tire and rim in it. so whats the point? i got roadside asistance and i'm not 2 woried about not having a spare.
