Default New V1 upgrade available

I just cruised by the V1 site and they are now offering the new POP upgrade. Surprisingly, the upgrade isn't as expensive as I thought it would be, but I still think it's a tad high for what is most likely (in my case) a firmware upgrade and a new sticker.

I have a V1.8 Valentine One. It's the last model made before the POP upgrade and it's about 14-16 months old. If you have an older version, I'm pretty sure it will cost more. Here's the info:

V1 Description: Radar circuitry known in-house as V1.8. This is our latest and best performer on both radar and laser with just one exception

you're better off selling your radar detector now and buying a new one. i juse did the search. and i see the v1.8 going for 350ish +shipping. and add 55 dollars to that. would be more.

about time you V1 guys caught up to the X50.

seriously though, when/if you do upgrade to POP, i'd really like some feedback on how it performs for you and what kind of falsing you get.

i upgraded to the X50 for POP and improved range, and within a week of turning POP on (it was off by default) i turned it off due to OUTRAGEOUS falsing. like if a knat farted by a door opener a mile away, it'd set off my POP. 5-20 falses daily on my 50 mile commute, and it falses like laser with a VERY loud full panic alert. and there didn't seem to be any predictability in the falsing...

Damn, I just got an upgrade ... Here we go again, I'm gonna hold out for awhile. I'd prefer for a usual new unit swap instead.

Here im my area....I dont pay attention to the V1 in the city. There is no radar produced today that can survive NYC......too many falses. However, when I am upstate or outside the city, where serious speeding is being done, then yes, I do pay full attention to it. NYC doesnt use POP....yet....but New York State does. Ill get it, and then I am taking a 3 hour drive through copville NJ to Atlantic City.....Ill def. have a review by then.

cool Dave.

i just got my X50 back from service (Maintenance Required message came up) after about a week long turnaround including the holiday, and they replaced my antenna (apparently shorting?), recalibrated it, and upgraded my software. i'll be turning POP back on and seeing if the upgraded software helps.
