Weird thing happened??!! my s2k's battery died while I was out of town last weekend, and after I recharged it, now I got an OEM security system. I mean I was knew I had one cuz the blinkin red lite on the dash, but it didnt really work. Doesnt make any sound, and I tried and couldn't set it off intentionally(unlock from the inside after lockin it w/ remote) unless I hit the lock button on the remote twice.

Now that the security system works, but I think it works too much. As long as the doors are closed and the key is not in ignition, the alarm system will kick in automatically after 30secs, and I did some research on it, and found that it could set either passive, which arms itself, or active, arms only when you ask to.

So does anyone know how to program it to active? I even went to an audio guy yesterday, and he worked on it for about an hour, and came back told me that he was able to tab into the security system, but couldn't program it w/ the factory remote. Anyone know what should I do?

it doesn't sound like you have an OEM security system. sounds more like you just have the factory keyless entry system.

have you ever looked under your passenger seat? the control unit for the OEM security system would be locate there.

humm.. it doesnt look like the one in my car. I found the security box under the dashboard, and its made by DEI automate model 415, and also a DEI siren in the engine compartment.
