Default OEM Radio

I hate to do this but I don't know what else it could be. I have an 01 OEM Radio that lights up and appears to be playing but no sound.

- Everything but the center display on the radio lights up
- It shows that it is playing a cd or radio station but nothing

I have:
- Replaced radio fuses along with accessory fuses as suggested in these posts stating that it is 99.9% of the time that issue

- Checked to make sure the speakers aren't blown
- Checked to make sure there are no kinks in the speaker wire

Could it be possible that the radio is blown but still appear to be working?
Thanks.

It's possible that all the lights work normal and the internal amp is fried. Pull the stereo out and put an Ohm meter to the speaker wires. Try it with a cd playing, on the stereo. See what you come up with.

make sure the dash MUTE button isn't on, and that the fader has not been
set to all the way rearward. Barring that, sometimes the speaker harness
connector can get a little loose, but you'd need to pull the headunit and
jiggle it to diagnose.

I need to get an ohm meter. But first I'm just going to try a different OEM Radio.
One of the first things I checked was the mute button & plugs. But thanks for the suggestion.
Of course I forgot to mention that I had one of those cheap fm signal ipod connections in the day it shut off. I've read that those sometimes surge the power & blow fuses.
I'm assuming that it blew my radio.
We will find out 2nite when I test another radio!

It ended up being the Radio itself. As I suspected! lol

I bought a stock radio, plugged it in and wallah it worked!

I still don't understand how everything could appear to working on it and not play? Is there an internal amp in the radio itself?
