Thumbs up Ok so I made the fibregalss bottom of the sub box.

Edit;
Hey guys, I am going to be running two 10" infinity subs in the trunk which take about .75 cb/ft of airspace each...

My question is, I know that i can get about 1.2-1.4 cb/ft of airspace since I am fibreglassing the bottom of the trunk and then using a 1/2 thick cover made out of mdf... So Must i separate the subs in order for them to sound good?

I ask this because the divider will take up a lot of airspace and I dont want my subs to go to s**t in about a month...

Also, I see A LOT of you running dual 10's and not having a divider, does it really make that much of a distorsioin?

Thanks!
-----------------------------------

Well, So i finally made the bottom part of my enclsure (which is made of fibreglass (the top is 3/4"mdf) and btw never use the fibreglass that is like strands; If you know what I mean... I used the "cloth" which is tightly weaved and is not messy at all not the "mat" one which is just like hanging loose)...

Anyway, so everything went good and came out perfect except that it is a little flexible (aka not so strong lol)... I am thinking of putting some bondo on the outside AND inside to make it stronger... what do yall think?? (or does it need to be THAT hard in the first place?)...

Oh and btw i ordered some 10" Rockford Fosgate Punch Stage 1 subs for $89.99 (both of them! on sale!! yaay! hah)... so that should do it remember its not like im going into any sound competitions any time soon lol... just wanted some decent bass to go along with my techno tunes...

Opinions?

Adding the divider would be fine. You really won't lose that much airspace. How are you going to be amping them and how are you going to be running them?
Anyway if your really worried about it you can add a small amount of polyfill in the box to make up for it.

Is there a reason your going to run 2 subs?

Look at his screename John!

You might want to consider one stronger 10 if you really want more bass.

2 subs do not make your car "louder"

I know but given his screen name and the subs he's using... I figured it was worth it to ask

Hahah yeah well I play bass (the instrument hah)... But I'm using two simply because they have a sale on crutchfield in which if you buy one infinity you get the other one free...

I am also looking at two pioneer subs... What brand is better for subs?

... I will be powering them with and alpine amp (forgot the code name) but it gives 350rms to two subs so it should be more than adequate...

Thought you got a 3dB SPL gain for using an additional driver....2 10's with X watts input> single 10 with X watts.

Hey but with what he's trying to do Jeff, he really should never hear the difference. If he had them tuned a little different that would help. But what I think Dave is trying to say is that in this car there's no need to go with 2 subs.
I can stick one of my 10" Alphasoniks in the trunk in one of my boxes run 600 watts to it and knock things off the side of the garage... I doubt the setup he'll be running would do that.

However all that said, I see his point and your's for that matter. But there are much better ways to get bass than running really strong. but hey a free sub is a free sub Rock it!

One Alphasonik or Eclipse Ti sub will outthump a pair of Inifinitys and the pioneers.

How much are you willing to drop on a sub?

PS, crutchfield is expensive.... PM John (Darkknight1999, aka Batman).....tell him what you need, and he can sort you out.

I totally agree....I think for the S, a single high quality sub is a better and cleaner solution than trying to jam 2 10's. Space is such a limitation.

Even with polyfill, squeezing 2 10's in a toolwell box will yield a high Q and be on the boomy side.

BTW....I got a package for you that I mailed to your shop and was returned to me......PM me your address....I'll drop it off.
