Default Passenger window not working

Hello everybody, first post here.

My passenger window stopped halfway up yesterday while driving home. I checked the fuse and it's not blown. Neither the master switch or the passenger side switch (which both worked fine before) seem to trigger the relay to switch on. What's weird is the window goes down just fine when I put the top down. The problem is it stays down until I take the door panel off and manually make it go back up at the connector with 12V from my jump pack. Is there some well-known reason this could be happening? I wasn't able to find anything with the search function. Driver's side works fine still.

Mark

There is 12V at the fuse as well, I should have mentioned that.

Window now works with the master window on/off switch turned On? Or is the switch bad?

Hi Chuck thanks for the reply. The switch wasn't making a connection so i jumpered the connector for now and took apart the switch. It was sticky inside and smelled like an electrical fire.

As near as I can tell you have to replace the entire drivers side window switch assembly part No. 35750-s2a-a01. But you may be able to fix just the passenger cutoff portion of the switch with spray contact cleaner. Of just leave it jumpered and let the passenger control their own window as they like. Only reason I'd lock it would be to prevent a child from playing with it and this car isn't designed to safely transport children who need a car seat.

Thank you! I was luckily able to find one used for quite a bit cheaper on eBay. Do you know where I might be able to find a wiring diagram for a UK S2000? The US one I was using was mostly the same, except the driver window motor connector showed as only having 4 pins in the diagram but mine had 6.

Post a note in the UK section. Someone will help.

Your profile states you're in the US so you may want to change that.

Ah. I'm American living in Germany for a little while longer with a car from the UK. Wasn't sure which to select

You may want to cheat and claim you're in the UK since you have a RHD UK-spec car. I think you can also put "in Germany with UK car" (or similar) in your location like mine shows as "Chesterfield VA."

Anyway there's sure to be help in the UK section.
