Passport SRX Problem
detector is back... and the weird laser alerts appear to be gone. i can no longer duplicate the issue.
problem is that i don't think they fixed my unit... they gutted it and replaced the internals entirely.
previously, i had sent mine in for a 'service required' alert back in December. well upon return this last time, i noticed my detector had my old exterior, but that the mute button was very stiff, and that there was a protective film on everything. i called, and i was told, "we rarely get back any detector twice, so when we do, our policy is to gut it and we replace the internals w/ new antennas, circuit boards, controls, and such..."
so - who knows... maybe it is a fixable thing. for mine, they just gave me (what is essentially) a new one.
btw - anyone know what a good street price on a ZR3 is? i've had someone IRL ask me, and i'm not sure... my local dealer is quoting me something a good bit below MSRP, but i'm not sure how good that deal is...
