I have the stock headunit in my S, but in my beater I have a JVC SH707. Its VERY nice. Display is fancier than the alpine and I really like the metallic face. I only paid $219 for it. Can't beat it.

I was actually thinking about going the Alpine 7994 myself (you can defeat the internal amp and hook it up with a normal harness no problem. However, the more I use this JVC the more I like it.

I don't know what I'll end up doing for the S, its a wait and see, but thusfar I've been happy with the JVC in the beater.

I hope you get it soon. I really like mine, but I really can't wait to get my dash controls back via DJCube mod. Didn't realize how much I used 'em in the short time I have had the car.
