Default Polk-Momo MM6 Question

Hey guys,

Have a few questions on installing a sound system in my new S2k (2003)

1. How difficult is it to replace the door speakers/tweeters compared to other cars?

2. Anyone have experiences with Polk-Momo MM6 component systems? Pics of installs would be great if you have them in your S2k. Any modifications had to be made or did the speakers fit in snuggly? Where would I put the crossover?

3. A recommended amp to run the speakers? I live in the Middle East so product numbers may be different, but if u can give me specs for power output etc that would help.

Thanks a lot,

Hadi

first, you might want to put your VIN number in so that you show up as an owner vs an Enthusiast.

please check out the FAQ, as it will answer a lot of your questions.

1. not too difficult. a 6.5" will require a spacer of some sort for most installs. Lucid sells a spacer, and others choose to make one from MDF. for tweeter info, you need to check out this thread.

2. i've heard them and thought they sounded nice, but they did not entirely agree w/ my tastes. i have no experience with installing them and/or their fit.
regarding the crossover - most crossovers (except for some of the largest) will readily fit inside a small cavity in the door. pictures and information about that cavity can be found here. the MB Quart crossover is really rather large, so i suspect the Polk one will fit without issues. my Focal crossover is located there.

3. check out the FAQ for some general recommendations. to better recommend an amp, we'll need more info regarding approximately what you intend to spend (in US $ if possible), and we need to know if you plan to add additional speakers or subs later.
