Please let me know the cost, I would like to share the cost of fixing your system to perform as it should be.
I am so sorry that you are having problem(s) with your system.
I am so sorry that you are having problem(s) with your system.
1) You did not install the system
2) You gave me a great deal on this amp
3) The help and advice you have given me is worth more than some repair bill.
But thank you.
One other thing for this group: The amp also does this (goes into Protect) when I eject a CD and put in another one.....Possible grounding as well?
Thanks,
Mike

If Mike (Nicotunes) returns the amp, I will ship it to you to use for 3 months free of charge. If after 3 months trial and you like to keep the amp then send me the check. If you like to return the amp, you will need to pay ground shipping fee. Do we have a deal ?

I LOVE this amp....I just need to figure out what is going on....
.....thanks! What was the model # again? I have been scouring eBay for the past month trying to find one of these things! I have only found the 3004, which seems larger than the one Nico has...and I want under-seat installation for storage issues....suggestions are being taken!John
Mike -- it sounds like your installer screwed a few things up, and failed to test anything that he did. i'm more and more inclined to blame the install. it isn't particularly hard to get 2 speakers flipped...
i usually check everything while installing to make sure i don't miss it, but it can happen. but to miss it in a post install test? not acceptable. how hard is it to go 'fade fwd, fade back, balance right, balance left'?
[QUOTE]EDIT: Since I am running comparatively small amps (a 50 x 4 and a 250 x 1), the installer said I did not need a power distro box....y'all agree?

Uh oh, I never thought of that....maybe people will not remember the name.
Back to the topic,
Since the power distribution block does not cost too much, it is better to get one.
Also, try to summary all the advices in in thread to discuss with Nsxnext1's tech this Thursday.
This is the summary I think you may want to print:
1. Get and install power distribution block with 50 amp fuse at the battery, and 30 amp fuses at the power distribution block.
2. Ground each amp separately to a very solid location, not daisy chain.
If the amp is working without a hitch, then you should ask them to use bridge mode to drive the front speakers, i.e., bridge the front to drive left speaker and bridge the rear to drive right speaker. Don't forget to bring with you the Y-splitters.
If the amp still get into protection mode for some cases. Then discuss with the tech about these trouble shooting:
Disconnect all wires going to the amp (don't forget to remove the power wire's fuse at the battery) and measure the resistance of each wire going into or from the amp, except the power wire and the remote turn-on (with 1 lead on the wire and one on a ground bolt in the car). The ground should be 0, the speakers should all be infinite.
If after trouble shooting your system still give your headache, then replace the amp with in-store amp
to see if it will fix the problem. If it does, then contact me right away.

For my info:
With your new amp and setup, I imagine that you are having to set your amp gain very low so it does not overpower the rears too much that are connected to the HU. is this true?thanks!
Mike
