I have XM in my Crown Vic, the car used for long hauls for obvious reasons. It's like a house on wheels. XM is great, and we got an XM ready headunit for the S, but i am still having second thoughts on the antenna placement, ANYONE WITH XM, please post pics of antenna mount

since this thing still won't let me post pics, and i don't feel like taking one anyway right now, i'll describe mine. it's in the hoop directly behind the passenger's head. sits in there nicely, wire runs either behind the hoop and around, or in front of the hoop right behind the seat, depending on how you mount it. tuner pack is under passenger seat. looks fine, does the job.

 

Does XM radio display the name of the songs and bands?

 

I'm running a Sony headunit and XT-XM1 receiver and in XM mode only 8 characters are displayed and to answer your question, yes artist/song titles are displayed. Out of the XM mode, the Sony supports level 2 specs and displays 31 characters in a scrolling format. I've heard the 8 character limit is also the case with Pioneer units.

Yes, on the Alpine it does display the artist and song title. I don't know what the limit is, but it is more than 8.

 

XM RULES!! I thought at first this is "the biggest bunch of bullshit going" till I had it installed. Hell I am considering buying stock in this company!!
