I searched but came up with crap. WAY BACK when Lucid was just starting I took his advice and carved up the rear panels and installed some (turned out to be) crap coustic 4" speakers. Now I see you can top mount a 5.25" speaker and it's time to upgrade.

Any recomendation for a top mount that will fit with no metal alteration? The holes are already in the panels so that should be cake. Would a component system make sense back there so you could raise the tweeter up a bit?

I've been looking at either this - KFC-XR501 Excelon 2-Way Speakers or Polk's db525 or even JVC CS-XV520

I just don't want to cut metal.

I have the XR501's and I like them. No metal cutting. But the hole has to be centered in the right place since it is tight.
