Lucid used to sell a connector for this. It let you tap the rear channel signals coming from the stock head unit.

To answer your specific questions:

No, there are no speaker wires in the area already
Yes, you need to run your own wires
I'm not sure exactly how to do this but several people on this forum should know.

In the 2000 there are no rear speaker wires. You will need to tap into the wiring harness on the back of your radio. The left rear + is position 6 and - is 16. Right rear is + 5 and - is 15. This will allow you to use the fade controls on your radio. Hope this helps.

On the 04-05 the clairion radio has output for 6 disk changer
is that wired to the trunk location?

I disconected it from the head unit to use the Ipod adapter

The parts guy found a couple wiring harnesses that make it a plug and play
for the 6disk changer the the center consol

Wire are there ...... for speakers.... out of the Headunit... they must go somewhere...

do they just go out 6" and end off the radio?

On the 04-05 you will see a wiring harness on the drivers side of the radio. I had to take out the radio to get to it.

The 04-05s come with optional oem headrest speakers, so likely the wiring is already there. They plug in under the seats, I am guessing the cars come wired up to that plug.

To the best of my knowledge, the 04-05s do not have any wiring to the rear either. Their are wires in the radio harness plug (unlike earlier model years that only had open spaces in the plug). The wire leads are just taped back to the harness though.

The plug is to the left of the radio. You need to either take out the radio or the side panel on the drivers side. I just did this 2 weeks ago. There is no wiring to the back of the car.

In the 04's there is a rear speaker harness behind the driver's side rear panel close to the center console.
