lol, I didn't notice until my girlfriend mentioned it. I've been researching the threads on here about other people's OEM alarms not working and I'm gonna try some of the free DIY things that may help it work again. Apparently almost everyone that has the OEM alarm has a similar problem as mine, but they just reseated the fuses for the alarm and got it work. So I'll troubleshoot some more this weekend and post up my results!

Alright guys, a quick update. I pulled all the fuses for the alarm and none were blown, so I cleaned them and reseated them. Alarm still didn't work. So I took the seat out and disconnected all the wires for the alarm. All the connectors looked good, the antenna on the alarm was fine, so I reseated all the connectors and tried it again, still no alarm So I guess the dealership was actually right on this one, it seems like the actual control unit is bad. Well I'm going to go order one now and I'll post up the results after I install it!

just go get an after market. the stock is useless since you can disable it by turning it off by using your key in the key-cylinder on the doors, while a theif can make it happen with a screw driver.

perfect chance to get an upgrade and add a few features

That's interesting, I didn't know you could turn the alarm off by putting the key in the door. That would've saved me the embarrasment of driving down the road with the alarm blaring. Well I thought about going aftermarket, but since it was only $75 for me to fix my OEM alarm, and a minimum of $400 for a decent aftermarket alarm I decided to just repair my current one. Unfortunately I'm on a student budget now so I don't have much disposable income lol. Plus I'm not really concerned so much with the alarm, I just want my keyless entry to work again

Alright, I just got my order today from Majestic Honda, and my worst fears have come true. I ordered part# 08E61-S84-1M002, and even though my local Honda Parts department told me this was the right part, it is actually the keyless control unit for under the dash, not the alarm. I thought it was odd that it wasn't called the alarm control unit but the Parts rep assured me this was the right part. Well, I'm off to call majestic honda and see what I can find out. If anyone knows the right part number please feel free to chip in! Thanks guys!

Alright, I've decided to say "screw it" and I'm just gonna send the control unit back and get an aftermarket. Just for reference, in case anyone else has this problem, I found the correct part# for the alarm control unit. It's 08E51-S84-1M002, I hope this helps some of the other people having the same problem I had
