Jim, I am going to need another amp rack.
I'm making you one right now.

I'm actually thinking about making some changes to my system also.

Jim,

What kind of changes are u thinking about.

Hey are you still making the flat back wall mounted amp rack for the trunk.

I might want to go that route this time.

05S2KinClovis_CA, only thing i have heard bad about the JVC is that you can't fast forward thru mp3 songs, and that the file structure when looking thru all your songs on one dvd is very confusing and disorganized. I liked the radio due to its display, but I dont think it has any of the sound adjustment features my pioneer had like, time correction.

I might just skip on this radio and go with Pioneer Premier again, DEH 860 MP and integrate the IPOD NANO to it. (got one last night, neat little thing)

Still waiting for NFR to chime in on the power handling ability of the Infiniti's.

I'm thinking about changing amps and going with a JL 500/1 to power the Alpha sub and a 300/2 to power the front Utopias. The Focals in the s-pods will probably be sold. My trunk will look like this except the crossovers will not be there.

Yes, I still am making the flat covers. However, if you are thinking about this option you have only 9.5" in width to deal with when you are looking at amps. Hay if you want to think about this amp configuration I can see what kind of deal I can get from my JL guy if we buy four amps from him.

Hey Jim,

Thats the exact look I want, except I want one amp right in the middle and possibly the cross over's on the sides, with the Alphasonik in the same place as before.

Hey do you remember where to get the Alphasonik? I cant remember where I ordered mine from.

When you say 9.5'", you mean from top to bottom right?

How does this panel attach.

Thanks for the offer on the JL amps, but I am set on the SoundStream TR960.

Yes, I do mean from the top edge to the bottom edge. The soundstream is to big here are the specs: 10.75x2.6x21.5 from their website.

Your right, the info on the earlier site was different then what is on Alpine' site.

But it only puts out 300 watts bridged to the rear at 12 volts.
Only at 14.4 volts does it put out 500 watts bridged to the rear.
i would think this should be pretty adequate.

my S generally runs at about 13.9V most of the time anyway, and if yours does too, it would get you into the 460 Wrms range.

*shrug*

i do think that the Infinity Kappas will be fine in the 125 to 150 range, assuming you cross them over properly...

Damm, I wanted to mount the Soundstream on the back, so much for that idea.
I guess I will go with a standard amp rack.

PHil, I dont get the specs on this alpine.

RMS Power (at 12V,20Hz-200Hz)
Bridged 4 ohms : 300W x 1 (Ch-3/4)
Per channel into 2 ohms : 150W x 2 (Ch-3/4)
Per channel into 4 ohms : 100W x 4

RMS Power (at 14.4V,20Hz-200Hz)
Bridged 4 ohms : 125W x 1 (Ch-3/4), 500W x 1 (Ch-3/4)
Per channel into 2 ohms : 250W x 2 (Ch-3/4)

How much would it run if at 13.9 volts into each channel at 4 ohms, it does not specify, it only specifies at 12 volts and thats 100 watts and 125 watts bridged into 4 ohms, I am confused?

I think for now the Tarantula will be fine for me, I really liked the soundstream vangogh I had before, so I dont want to start experimenting now with new amps.

The soundstream will give me 120 watts rms for the infiniti'a and 480 watts rms to the sub. More than enough.

Yeah I know, what I was going to do was have it sitting on the panel recessed into it as well.

Only other thing I can think of is to mount the amp in the tool well area, and run a Wlaurent box, is he able to fit the alphasonik PSW810's into his boxes. I thought I saw a thread of a guy running two of them.

So why do you want to run JL's now Jim.
