Round 2 Audio
So I am looking at 458 watts to the sub bridged,
and 139 watts to each set of components, is this correct?
How come the 2 ohm number went down from the original, (250 to 229) and the 4 ohm number went up (125 to 139). Is that correct?
What do you guys think of this amp. I just went out and measured something and realized the Tarantula is going to be too big for my car.
Let me know, any of you guys running it, any experience with it. Looks like I might be using this one.
Also I was looking at this one, figure I go with a same brand system this time around.

Anyone have any experience of commentary on the infinity Amp? Any good?

Ms Asdf, those brax amps are so sexy. Damm I wish I was rich.
I dont get the ratings on one of the amps, the B4 precision, it says 4 x 60/100
whats the 60/100, is it a variable output or something. let me know. I like that amp if it puts out 100 watts rms. PM with a price as well.
Also I dont recall, but do I look at the 12 volt output numbers or the 13.8 numbers.
Thanks once again.

im not sure myself. i believe the 60 is rms and the 100 is 13.8 volts rms. i have not played with one yet, but i hear great things about them. a lot of people say the new helix stuff have a lot of balls and underrated.
well, most cars put out between 13.2-14 volts while the car is running. some people get 14.4 volts. it all depends on how many volts your battery is putting out.
most cars while the engine is offf get around 11.5-12.5 volts.
i found an A4 helix on ebay for pretty darn cheap. it ends in 7 hours 30 mins though.

Mr asdf, thanks for the link on ebay, but I got burned buying electronics online on ebay once, and I will never do that again.
So would you say to assure myself I get the most volts out of the car, should I get an Optiima Red? Will that have any effect on the output voltage wise?
Jim, I think the Alpine is the one I am going to get, I like the little blue led read out in the middle of the amp. How much do your flat panel amp racks cost? I am going to start this project in about 2 weeks.
So far here is what I have planned.
Amp- Alpine MVR 545 4 channel amp.
Speakers- Infiniti Kappa Perfects 6.5 components
Headunit- Pioneer Premier 860 MP (same as before)
Sub- Alphasonik PSW810 (same as before)
DCI and PAS2KNUT flat amp rack.
Pioneer Ipod Interface with 4 gb Ipod Nano Black
Missing anything? The car is fully wired with Knu koncepts wires and rcas from my last system.
I want to get creative with the box, I want to do something different. Any ideas or suggestions, its going in the tool well. I really want to do plexiglass top, but I remember it was super expensive last time I looked into it?

i have been burned before as well. i think almost everyone has or knows someone personally who has been burned before. that kind of crap happens all the time.
most new batteries can put out 14.4 while the engine is on. honestly, deep cycle batteries are a waste of money i think. i am using an interstate without any problems. i also get 14.4 volts, i have used a lot of deep cycles and felt they were all not worth the money for my setup. there is a different brand of battery considered to be the absolute best, the brand is called kinetic, or kinetics. forgot the exact spelling. the problem with it is the price. 1 kinetic = 3-4 optimas.
basically, just a get a DMM and test your battery output voltage. then go to the amps and check the voltage they are recieving. if the voltage at the amp is less than the voltage at the battery, you should upgrade your power wires. also, if you decide to get a new battery, duralast has a really good one. it is black with a red top on it. i hear really good things about it.
the alpine MRV-545 is a powerful ass amp. i think it puts out somewhere around 175x4 rms, could be more.
knukonceptz gets a thumbs down from me for rca's. i got some engine noise while using it. switched it out with dayton audio from partsexpress. IMO the the daytons are so much better in quality and no noise and in the same price of the KNU's. i had the KNU's that were blue/silver in twisted configuration.

What do you guys think of this amp. I just went out and measured something and realized the Tarantula is going to be too big for my car.

Also I was looking at this one, figure I go with a same brand system this time around.

Anyone have any experience of commentary on the infinity Amp? Any good?

sorry for that confusion, i was pretty tired when i did that -- must have missed it when i read back to check.

also, ask ASDF said -- the current Alpines are getting the reputation for being underrated... so, you should be fine using one.
I am actually planning on putting all Image Dynamics in the S. So far I haven't seen anyone on here with them. I already have the CD-2 horn loaded compression drivers (if you have never heard horns, they are truly amazing) that I bought off of Ebay vary cheap. If you are looking to put components in such as Infinity (they are good, no doubt) take a look at some horns first. I will be installing probably in the next few months once I buy a HU and a couple of amps. I should have some pics then

They are a bitch to install correctly and if they arent installed and tuned right, your ears will start to bleed. i hope you know what you are doing. how much power are you running to them.
let me know if you need more ID stuff, i am friends with the owner, main tech/designer and a speaker builder for them. i might be able to get some good prices for you.
where are you located? they have IASCA competitions every month at image dynamics. if you are local, stop by, i can introduce you to matt and the gang and show you around ID.
