Is Sony Xplod any good?
Hey,
I'm looking at doing up the sounds system with sony xplod, because I like the brand name, and the colors to match the red/black of my S. Does sony make good, quality audio sound components? I've heard alot of contreversy. I also want a clear, smooth base thump, for rock or techno mostly. Any suggestions and ideas will be appreciated!
One other thing: I plan to use the Sony MEX-5DI head unit, will this work? It has the slide out disc tray, and the fold down screen, will it fit? Will the shift knob, or center console stop it?
Thanks!
~Andrew

Top of the line Sonys (including Xplod) are good. I've never had any problems with sony producs. My 10 disc sony cd changer is now 5 years old, has been in a severe accident and still works great after missing a few mechanical parts in the accident. My current HU is an Explode, the last one was also a Sony that I sold with my last car - was 4 years old at the time with not problems at all.
I know many people don't like Sony, I don't know why?
