Default Security System Will Not Stop Going Off

Good morning..
--
Well, picked up my other FOB (never used it in 2 years.. came with 2, but decided to use the other one today).... went to garage, and unlocked the doors.
Opened door, and security went off... hit the lock button about 10 times, and then it finally stopped. Noticed that I had improperly closed the trunk and it was still slightly open. I closed it, hit the unlock button, and it went off again.
Thought maybe starting the car would stop it...so started the car... It fired up, but the security kept going off.
What's going on? Any ideas? It's a nice day, and for once I try to drive..and it isn't cooperating..

Any idea?

You have the wrong remote. The reason the alarm stopped the first time was that it timed out. Find the correct remote. That will turn off the alarm. The way to turn off the remote from inside the car is to press the disarm switch (by your left knee, near the steering wheel cover) while turning the key (I think). I posted the instructions recently here.

wow..amazing...
that's exactly what it was..the dealership gave me 2 FOB's, but one is definitely not the same as the other one. Shouldn't they have given me 2 CORRECT one's?
I left a voice mail with the service department with the dealership that the car was purchased from.
thanks for the help...i'm going to use the old fob for now until the other one gets replaced.

that's true... and of course, that's not making me a happy camper. I got one for the OEM security, and one OEM keyless entry FOB.

i'm going into the dealer on monday or tuesday next week to have them take a look at the clutch, so at the same time, i'm going to have them give me a new FOB. Also, I want them to take a look at the gauge cluster... there is some interior trim from behind that's showing...
ugh...
