Short, Overload or Coincidence
Electronic Gurus...I need a little assistance, recomendation and/or direction.
What's Changed: For the past 6 years I have been running an Alpine 9827 HU, with 4 cabin speakers, a trunk sub and 2 amps. Also Using Modifry's DCI. Had no issues with any of the equiptment. Install can be reviewed here (and thanks for the help then also). Recently I changed out the HU for an Alpine 9887 and a new wire harness, but keeping the remainder of the components the same. It was a simple "Plug and Play". The Radio, sub, amps and DCI work just fine - No issues.
Last night was the first time I needed to turn on the lights and noticed I had no Dash, HU Hand Control, Parking & Rear lights. Fuse #23 (10A) was the culprit. Replaced, turned on parking lights, fuse blows immediatley. Fuse #22 (15A) which is for the radio is just fine and has no issues.
The only thing that has really changed was my HU switchout, but I cant figure out how the two relate. I have NOT wired the "Dash Illumination" lead to the Instrument cluster. IPOD and BlueTooth components are not yet hooked up on the unit.
Is this coincidence or do I have a short or overload somewhere?
Detail day tomorrow with the group (so no time tomorrow), and was planning on installing the IPOD and BlueTooth components on Sunday. Was hoping you could give some recommendations of what this may be or where to begin to look since the HU will need to come out anyway.
Any feedback would be much appreciated.
THANKS!!!
