Thumbs up so im replacing the stock sound system

i want to go with the DCI, but i dont wanna have to any drilling, so i guess i wanna go "wired".

i originally wanted to go with the 9856 as my head unit, but i soon found out i would need the IR DCI

im trying to stay within the $200 range for a head unit, and it has to be an alpine, pioneer/premier.

what do u guys suggest?

and now for the 6.5 door speakers, i was looking at a set of alpine SPR-17LP

is this a good choice? is there a 6.5 speaker that requires less cutting to install than any others?

thanks for the help

Whats wrong with an IR DCi? Takes 20 minutes to install, no drilling, clean, works great...

Whats the problem?

The IR dci does not necessarily require any drilling. I have a 9856 in my 2005 S2k and the IR "eye" is right above the right side of the face, between the edge trim of the face and the dash. The 9856 does leave a veeeeerry slight gap all the way around--not noticeable to the eye, but enough to fit the "eye" through.

Ive installed about 10 IR DCi's and have NEVER drilled anything anywhere. Not only that, the way I have the eye mounted, You cant even tell its there.

Well I ended up drilling my eye into the upper roof pillar near the dome lights mainly cuz my deck is now in the dash area. Works AWESOME and is so stealthy you'd never notice unless I point it out
