Default Soft top switch problem

Both of my windows raise and lower normally using the door switches. But when I raise or lower the top, the right window lowers all the way down as normal; but the left window lowers only half way. Suggestions about how to fix it, anyone? I tried replacing the ROOF switch on the console, but that wasn't the problem.

My '02 did the same thing, not to much later the actual window switch started having the same problem (auto-down wouldn't take it all the way down, then the switch itself acted up).

Followed reset instructions and this would fix it for a while. Evetually I had to have it repaired.

it doesn't sound exactly like it.... but have you tried the auto-rolldown fix?

it could the sign that the pulser is going bad. i'm pretty sure there's a TSB out there for the pulser problem (if that is what your problem is...) does the auto-down at the door switch work properly?

You guys are great! The reset procedure did work! I've had the S for seven years now, and this is the first time I've had window troubles. Thanks again!

no problem.

just be aware, that this is seldom a long term fix. most likely you'll continue to have this problem and it will be intermittent in nature. sometimes, i used to go 2 days or 2 months between having to do the reset.

there is a TSB for this problem, and even w/ a 2000 you may be able to get a goodwill consideration repair.

(iirc, the part is pretty dang expensive otherwise... like $300+ i think? )
