the best advice that anyone can give u is to go to ur local audio shop, demo all the things u want. then choose wut u want.

dont buy wut other people like. in a way, ur just building their system. build ur own system. car audio is a reflection of urself. dont buy wut people tell u to buy. u might not like it.

i might like speaker A over speaker B, but u might like speaker B over speaker A. therefore listen to a set urself.

ATF kuk,

I've seen a few posts from you now, and it's clear to me that you have good experience with car audio. But I beg of you. Please type in english. Your internet shorthand typing makes you sound like a 10 year old and I know that's not how you want to be recieved here.

Also, the idea of demoing different speakers is admirable, but it's also VERY difficult to do because speakers will sound vastly different in the demo room than installed. A lot of sympathetic drivers in the demo room and none in the car.

my friend told me the other day, that in such places like demo rooms. The subwoofers and speakers are powered differently than in a car. they will actually sound better in the demo room. and "crappier" in your car. not to say they wont sound good but just not as good as in the demo. but i must agree, in saying that hearing it for yourself is the best idea.

sorry about the "aim slang" xeno. i picked up my aim slang in my freshman year of high school which was about 8-9 years ago. my mind just got used to typing this way when i freewrite. i will try to rememeber to write out the word instead of slang way. who cares if people think im 10 anyway.

youre right about the demo room being different in the car. i believe its because of the cars interior. each car has a different resonance freq(i hope thats the correct name). each part of the interior reflects and absorbs sound in some way.

if you take 2 different cars and install the same equipment with a normal install, they will sound different. but who says a demo room setup even sounds good? i have heard many systems in many places. most of them IASCA and demo cars. they all sound better than a demo room setup. its all about the install. demo room does not have good imaging nor sound staging, or even correct tonal balance. the point of having a demo is to listen to the characteristics of the equipment ur buying. your goal is not to achieve demo room sound, or is it?

things in a demo room are not powered differently. i helped setup the demo wall at the shop i work for. one thing you must know is that in a room, its an open space. there is a lot more room than inside a car. in a room, there is more than enough room for the wavelengths to disperse and so forth. in a car, with a normal install, retaining the factory locations, there is not enough room for the wavelenths to disperse before they are reflected. wavelength dispersion is one the biggest keys to having a great sound system. another big key, is to aim the wavelengths.

so to answer your question a demo room vs. normal install, demo room will sound better. but... demo room vs professionaly installed for optimal staging, imaging, tonal accuracy, the pro install will win.
