Hello I currently have a Sony MEX5DI HU and was looking at upgrading my speakers. Not worried much about the bass but want crisp, clear music. Should I just get some higher end components for the door or should I go the S Pod route with a little less costly components in the rear and doors. Not looking at spending tons but want the best bang for the buck. Any comments or suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

 

Depends on what you like. I don't like having much, if any, rear fill so S Pods for me would never work out. If you put higher end components in the door you will need to look at an amp also as a lot of the higher end components don't do so well with HU power.

As for what speakers you want, you're going to have to audition some at local car audio shops, bring a CD that you are very familar with so you can see which speaker suits you best. I could throw out models that I like, but they may do nothing for you.
