stoopid question, why subs in the trunk??

I'm no audio expert, but it goes something like this:
Sound waves in the low bass frequencies range from anywhere between 20 - 40 FEET. Ever notice that you hear a car with a sub-woofer WAY BEFORE you see it? So unless you're driving a really big RV, you're not going to transmit the sound through the air. You're going to use the ability of the car's cabin to transmit the sound (transfer function) from the trunk (kinda like how the bones in your ear work.) So the short of the long (pun intended) is the trunk is a-ok.

yeah on the passenger side of the car behind the seat, you will see some slots...those slots feed into the trunk. Soooo...if you remove the spare, you can see that it feeds into the cabin. I think there is some lining you have to get past though. I rememeber checking it out...
