I agree with this. The learning curve for basic fiberglass is not steep. Based on info here and elsewhere I built an in-cabin sub chamber as my first fiberglass project. The hands-on experience opened my eyes to the great flexibility of fiberglass and epoxy resins for projects.

Of course I made a huge mess and a lot of mistakes...

The main thing is to have a work area that you can mess up, stink up with fumes, etc. Then, make sure you read and plan far enough ahead that you don't make any irreversible mistakes.

If you don't have such a work area then yeah, you might want to avoid fiberglass.
