sub wiring: need help
Amp is a punch 80, not sure if it(amp) is 1ohm stable or not but the subs are 4ohm per speaker, does not say if it is per coil...... just got this stuff from a friend, I do have other amps if this one is not enough.
really gotta know this stuff or you'll blow your amp....
I doubt it's 1 ohm stable so your going to have to run it at 4 ohms if it's a dual 4 ohm sub...
take positive of one side of the sub and run it to the negative of the same sub (sounds like it'll blow but it won't) this will make the other coild in the sub 8 ohms... do the same to the other sub , now run the positive and negative of each sub to the amp and your set , it'll divide the power making it run at 4 ohms.
