We don't need this, we already have a passive anti-theft system.

if you read on the website, altho it doesnt state HONDA, they claim that these passive anti-theft systems are easily bypassable. keep in mind, it is a security company that is making this claim so im not sure how credible that claim is.

yeah, im not sure how usable this is, but it seems pretty cool. i dont read about many s2000's being stolen, i do read about how many s2000's have been broken into and their seats, etc stolen.

It would work really well if you hid it, so the thieves would not know WHERE to bypass it.

There used to be another similar system called "Pro-Lock". They are no longer in business. A major problem with that product was that many, many owners themselves were stranded in the middle of a parking lot when the system malfunctioned and left the car dead. The owner had to call the company and wait for them to send someone out to get the car going. Then they would install a new unit, which was still no guarantee that wouldn't happen again.

I have seen a similar type device with fewer pins in it. AFAIK it is a passive device. The idea is that there are shorted pins in the key. You wire up your starter and any other accessories through it so they will not work unless the key is in place. If someone tries to jumper out the pins, several of the pins are ground and the theif will start blowing fuses. By the time the thief figures it out and replaces all the fuses 10-20 times EACH, they are gonna get busted.

Of course, the theif could just tear up your car to be an a-hole.
