Run only (meaning no more, no less if possible) 80 watts RMS per channel to those speakers. Focal makes it easy and doesn't make you guess (like my speaker maker, MB Quart, does).

I was waiting for Dave's URL . Yes, KNUKONCEPTZ.com for all the wiring. It's better and cheaper in every respect than the Monster Cable that I (wish I didn't) have. There's an excellent wiring FAQ with photographs and parts listings that DarkKnight wrote up. Look through the stickies or FAQ for the link. Every time he says Monster Cable just look for the equivalent at KNUKONCEPTZ.com.

Note: I am 100% anti-Monster Cable Products, Inc.. You can do a search for my boycott thread. I was stuck with it at the installer I used (before their board become litigious). If you like it, use it but know that it's 1) quite overpriced and 2) IMO MCP, inc. is a horrible, horrible company. They do make high quality products though.

Ok...first of all, the 9835 is a waste of money. It has a VDrive amp in it (thus the high price) which you arent even using.) So its money down the tubes.

The amp you selected isnt all that either......Speakers as well....
The amp dollar per watt isnt great, and the speakers, I personally dont like their construction.

My suggestion.....

Alpine CDA-9851

$245. Got everything you need, nothing you dont. The overly digital headunits are a hassle, trust me.

Speakers....
Alpine SPX 177R - $228 at www.hookedontronics.com

Infinity Kappa Perfects 6.1s - $228 at www.hookedontronics.com

Alphasonik 3 way components (PCT6551) - $219 at www.onlinecarstereo.com

IF YOU CAN SPRING THE MONEY>>>>
FOCAL (utopias or the KPs)
MBQUART (Qs only)
Phoenix Gold Ti6COMP Elite - $379 www.onlinecarstereo.com

AMPLIFIERS....

ALphasonik PMA41509 - 150x4) $399 at www.onlinecarstereo.com

AMAZING DEAL!!!

Phoenix Gold XS660 6 channel amp....$329 at www.onlinecarstereo.com
(1000watt 6 channel)

Soundstream Tarantula 500.4 (the original and still tastes the best )

$639, a 700 dollar savings off retail

Opportunities are endless....dont waste your money on things that dont matter, and spend it on things that do.

KNUKONCEPTZ.com great cables , great company.

Get the better cables, it will make a bigger difference than you think. Cables are VERY important, and are often overlooked.

KNUKONCEPTZ.com makes some great stuff that won't break your bank.

I just noticed you wrote "norm". Focal lists "nom." meaning nominal power handling. That's what they want your RMS power to be for the best sound and longest operating life of the speakers.

I agree with Dave on the headunit, but if you don't go with the 9835 then I think there are better options out there (hint: I *love* Eclipse )

I would, however, still buy very good speakers. If you're like me you've already spent $1,500 in your mind and now want the best you can get. Buy great Focals or MB Quart QSD216's (very bright, the speakers I have) or other high end speakers. You'll also want to buy decent amps and cabling because you essentially want to eliminate noise and coloration of your sound. Once you get to a certain level the choice of these components makes very little difference. There is room to wiggle here, in other words.

That's a system worthy of envy. sick!

I can recommend the PG (phoenix gold) amps without reservation. They are great. I have two PG 600Ti's.

However, if you can, try to listen to the Focals, Quarts, and PG speakers. Your ears should make this call. All the speakers are great, hightly rated, but each has it's own flavor. You should find the flavor you like. The type of music you listen to makes a huge difference here as well.

6-channel amp? Are you planning on running rears? Usually with a 6-channel amp you'd run four speakers and bridge the last two channels for subwoofer(s). That amp may be a bit much for what you listed, unless I'm missing something.

Sounds like an awesome system!
