yep, afetsman; that was your comment I was thinking of.

I will dive back into my manual and see what "A" / "B" / "C" function you are talking about to see if I can replicate what you are seeing.

Just to clarify, are you thinking thes Function settings have something to do with the remote control on your HU?

As I have no remote I cannot say yes or no, but there has to be some reason that there are 3 remote settings. Are there 3 different remotes? I only see the 1802 and 1602 on the Eclipse site. Which one did Modifry use to make the DCI? THe 1802 has the Knob at the top and the 1602 is just a flat credit card size with a few push buttons...here's the site...http://www.eclipse-web.com/index_cd.html

But unless we have access to both remotes to see if they act different on A,B, or C I don't know what to do.

If you guys can tell me what remote was used I'll try to stop at the stereo shop today and check it out.

The knob remote was the one used to set up the Eclipse DCI coding.

The card remote was the one I was using this week to test it. This is the one I mentioned that is causing the volume to increment 2X more then the HU volume dial.

So ... take your pick if you can get either one to work properly we are ahead of the game.

I am anxiously awaiting more information on this. While Mr. Weaver's problem is, at this point, probably not a DCI issue I would like to better understand the "A,B,C" setting so we can tell future Eclipse users how to set their HU.

As a result of having to re-vamp the DCI software because Eclipse head units do not tolerate multiple IR commands, I think I've finally been able to get a DCI working on Nakamichi and JVC. This week I sent DCI's to two owners of those brands for testing and hope to get positive feedback in another week or so.

Mr. Weaver is correct, this is the Eclipse remote that the DCI mimics:

Well, the A,B, and C settings are for the E-Com. Different settings will allow the remote funtions to change. Don't ask what E-Com is because I don't know, I don't have it, and my manual doesn't say. But, setting A is for the normal remote functions and that is where the DCI works. So, it is programmed for A and the remote type shouldn't matter, but I do want to see if the remote also increments the same as the DCI. I haven't been able to get to an Eclipse dealer to try the remotes out as they are down in Salt Lake, which is a 1/2 hour from where I live. Hopefully I can get down there this weekend.

OK. I think we can bring this to closure finally.

The car audio shop I bought the head unit from (Boston Audio Design) is an authorized Eclipse store. They have installed a lot of HU's and did not know of any switches or settings on the HU that would adjust the input from the remote.

So this week they called Eclipse directly and talked to the technical services people. Seems that the American Eclipse HU's are SUPPOSED to increment by 2X when using the remote. The Japanese HUs only increment by the normal 1X amount. The HU the owner of the audio store used for my last testing was a Japanese test model Eclipse is thinking of introducing in the US.

So long story short ... the current Modifry/Lucid DCI for Eclipse is mirroring exactly what the remote is supposed to do.

Modifry - thank you for your patients.
