Sorry, those of us too lazy(or always forget) to enter our VIN to become a member cannot post pictures as an "enthusiast". But I'm still waiting for warmer weather to finish my fiberglass box...Otherwise it's just an Eclipse deck in the stock location, some Alpine speakers(will upgrade to Focal, someday) in the stock location, and a temporary MDF box for a 12" sub. Nothing special here...Sorry.

Afetsman,
RE: Volume Attenuator - yep, the volume increment problem you described is the same I've encountered on both of the prior test versions. But I think the Eclipse threshold is at 50 where is begins incrementing by 2 instead of 4. If you use the HU knob by hand it increments by 2 below "50" and "1" above 50. Not that that matters I guess.

RE: A/B/C switch -
* Where is this a/b/c/ switch you've mentioned on your HU5423?
* Do you have any pics of that?
* What does it say in your manual that it is supposed to do?
* Have you tried different settings to see if that resolves the problem?
* So even if you use the Mode/Volume combination, the CD tracks don't change properly? They change correctly for me on the 1st test version I'm using.

RE: Problem skipping "every other" function - This happened to me too on the 2nd test version I received. I returned it. The 1st test version (the one I'm still using) did not do this.

RE: Remote Unit - What remote are you using optional (1802 w/ Nob) or standard (1602)?

I have the 5423 as well...my major issues are the volume control and the function skipping. I can not use the mute button because it takes so long to unmute. Cycles through mute, phone mute, off, and normal...but not one at a time, just random.

Kronos,

* that is one happy dog you have as an avatar.

* RE: random skipping. Eeeeks. The 1st version I'm using didn't do this. The 2nd one did.

I have that probelm with the MUTE too. I didn't know it was going through all that, I just thought there was a small delay. Now I know why...
