Those that know XM
where is your antenna?
i have XM on the roof of my crown victoria and it's a fully pioneer system, got it a little while ago, it's been almost a year, and i don't have any problems with signal degradation unless i'm going slow under tree's and the likes. I live in a heavily wooded area and it's hard to get a signal when i can't see the sky well. Anyway's my experience with XM is this, if you drive under a bridge, you lose a signal completely, the music turns to fuzz for a second. i'd call it the new static, it's less annoying. As for the volume, i'd check the owners manual on the HeadUnit. As i recall i had a similar volume/tone issue when i got the system though not as bad. After monkeying with the settings in the headunit i found that the HU will actually keep a setting for each mode, tuner, XM, cd, and so on. So it is possible to make it louder and equalize the volume with other sources. My .02
Where is your antenna? I might go up and set a date to install it tonight, antenna on the center of the dash. Tweeter install, so it should look good. ~Mike~
Hope this helped jim

Do you have the antenna on it's side? Rotating the antenna about it's base (like turning the car) isn't a problem, but if you have it on it's side (i.e., the top and bottoms become sides, the sides become top and bottom), there could be problems. I don't know what the signal's polarization is, but that can have a major effect on received signal strength.
