I don't want to look stupid when it doesn't work. I've done some searching, and the 'freakishly simple' idea I had was too simple -- no way it will work.

What makes you think we WONT pick on you, even if it does work!

J/K I really like the idea of the relay with the window switch. Very ingenious. You will need to make a kit and market THAT!

Yeah, I think that unless Bryan comes up with something looking at the diagram, I'm going to do the window switch relay deal like this:

2 normally open relays tapped in to the window switch. One for the speed sensor, one for the ebrake. This would make the whole setup work just like factory whenever the window switch is on (ie - passenger window can operate). To bypass the whole system, you need to intentionally turn off the window switch. Once off, you're free to operate the top! All of that and your window switch still works as always.

Of course, all of this still depends on what Bryan is thinking of...

Here's one for you. While you're showing off to your friends that you can drive and raise the top at the same time, "don't forget to take the brake off! It smells nasty!

OK, I'm a pessimist, and experience in my line of work makes me automatically think of ways for things to go wrong and how to build in safeguards.

The problem with using the window switch is two-fold.

The timeout idea, while good, seems a little complicated for my tastes. I'd be fine with just connecting the passender window on/off switch to the e-brake and speed safeties to turn them off. What do you guys think? That seems like a lot less cutting and installing to do. I'd also like it to appear fairly stock upon examination by a honda tech
