I had not seen these before! Great idea!
I agree with the above - having said that I had sound advice install a JL 8 inch sub at the passenger feet area - they made a fiberglass box and it all worked out nicely unless tha passenger it big and picky. ie lost some inches
The space between the trunk and the passenger compartment on the S2000 is mostly open space. There's a spare tire in there, and plastic panels on either end, but that is all. There's plenty of capability for a LFE channel.
Example: I have a JL 10W6v2 in a sealed box driven by a JL 500/1 amp. I can hear the low frequency content quite well on the highway with the top down. It's a nice compliment to a pair of Boston Pro component speakers, which I have bi-amped with a JL 300/4.
I'm sure there are limitations. As stated above, my setup doesn't boom like a Stereo-U-V, but then I don't want it to. Personal taste.

I was thinking about putting a JL 10W3 (not sure 2 or 4 ohms, don't know a lot about it) and putting infinity kappa perfect up front and power both with a JL 300/4. will that be enough? my HU is an alpine 9857.

Do yourself a favor, and set the shop on fire. Bunch of idiots, who are clearly, clueless. You can have PLENTY of bass in an s2000. A box in the toolwell, a nice 10", and a nice amp, you are set. Ask them to explain the physical differences of airflow in a coupe, 4 door, and a convertible. All three have something diving the passenger compartment with the trunk right? How is it different. I hate idiots.
I could understand if there was a firewall between the trunk and the cockpit (similar to 1st gen miata's). But the S2k does not have such a firewall....just have the shop pull the trim panels from the trunk, remove the spare, then tell you there is no communicating airspace! If it is going to be a custom job, have them cut a hole or 2 in the tray, and cover them in speaker mesh. Looks good, and improves bass response.

[QUOTE=s4play,Oct 16 2006, 01:15 PM]LOL your shop is a pure idiot....come sit in my s2000 for one second and tell me what you think?
I run a single 10w6v2 in a special sealed box in the corner - if you can' feel that thing you must be dead!
