Default Upgrade

Hey guys looking into upgrading my sound system and also the interior. Right now i have a Clarion AutoPC head unit and infinity speakers with a small amp in the front. What i'm looking into doing is a new head unit with one that has like a pop up monitor if it doesn't cost too much and then a nice sub in the trunk with an amplifier and possible component speakers in the front. Is this possible with $700-800 maybe a little more. Give me some ideas on what brands and stuff and also any thoughts? For the sub probably just a nice 10" in a custom box. Thanks guys.

Pop up monitors don't work in the S2000 without decent modification to the dash.

it would hit the shifter, so no. Like previous user posted "dash mod" for it to work. If you do so I would go without the flip out HU.

i dont think so, if you look at the kenwood head unit its hinged at the front and planet audio one is hinged in the rear. what that means is that kenwood head unit has more extendability to clear the recessed head unit space. most single din monitor head unit can only adjust the angle of the screen but it looks like the kenwood can adjust how far the monitor can extend.

So the planet audio one just flips right up where as the kenwood one extends forward before flipping up?

Is that a feature i can look for when im looking for a head unit? I am just trying to get a flip up screen to work in my car without modifying the dash or spending a crap load. I wanna spend about 350 max on the head unit.

Not only that but you need to consider the clearance required for the shifter and for the dash above the radio opening.
