I have the modifry DCI made for Alpine and was curious if I can buy a new clarion unit and use the same DCI for that one or if I need to purchase a new one.

I tried emailing bob at modifry last week but got no response, so hopefully someone here can help me.

I'm not an expert...but I'm pretty sure that my Sony DCI will not work with anything but Sony.

But back on topic, I would think that it might be easily reprogrammed as the hardware should be pretty much the same, but could be completely wrong.

 

IIRC, you can use the same DCI for Alpine, Kenwood, Clarion, and I think JVC. The dip switches have to be set differently, though, and I didn't keep that sheet after I set mine up. The instructions might be on modifry's site, but I'm not sure.

 

Also, the wiring harness is going to be different, so make sure you have the correct bits before you start.

and just so you guys dont think im too crazy, I work for hitachi so i get discounts on clarion products, hence wanting to switch from my old alpine to a new clarion with ipod and bluetooth.
