I tried to make any kind of flip up screen work and wont. The only real way is to cut the dash.

No a flip screen does not fit. Sorry. You have to either put the HU in the dash... which looks like crap and totally out of place or get a HU for the stock location and install a screen in the dash, which is you best bet.

^ In addition, when you shift hard into third you can put your hand through your expensive electronics (don't think it has happened to a few screens from board members!)

Just to expand on this, others have installed screen(s) in their visors, or in the location the visors used to occupy. I have been thinking about this a little since I can't use my visor for anything other than to collect dust or simulate an Escalade cutting me off.

And I've actually been eying the map light space for a small drop-down widescreen... they have much larger drop-downs with integrated maplights on the bottom for the aforementioned Escalade and its brethren, but no such thing would ever fit in an S2000.

So no screen will fit in the OEM stereo location, but there may be a couple of other choices beyond dash-cutting.

i'm interested in doing this whole thing myself. I really want nav and dvd in my car. I use it for long trips and I like the additional help of knowing where I'm going. Yes, I do know how to read a map, but I like nav better.
